Supported Living

Support and supervision is provided to adults with special needs, who are able to live in essentially independent settings, with assistance and training from support workers on a visitation basis. Visitations are based on the amount of supervision or assistance required.

Assistance that may be provided by the worker includes: communication skills; social and interpersonal relations; home management and domestic skills; food selection and preparation; use of money and budgeting; and accessing community activities and groups. To ensure a smooth transition from their previous accommodation, additional support is usually provided to the person served, entering this program.
