We are currently seeking an energetic, motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our Supported Independent Living Team. The SIL staff supports adults with developmental disabilities in living on their own or in shared accommodations outside of the family home to build community connections, coach and support activities of daily living based on the person’s goals and individual support plan. Supporting activities of daily living may include: grocery shopping and meal preparations, money management, overall household tasks, hygiene, self-care and clothing care to name a few. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate individual and agency records; act as a liaison between internal and external contacts; maintain current standing in required courses; keep up to date on agency information, policies and guidelines and maintain professionalism in all aspects of duties.
This position will work 40 hours per week. There is a requirement to work varied hours and days during the week including evenings and weekends. Shifts will include statutory holidays as needed.
• Human Services Diploma (DSW, SSW, PSW) or equivalent is preferred but not required
• Keen interest in working with developmentally disabled individuals
• First Aid/CPR certificate
• NVCI certificate or willingness to obtain
• Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• French language proficiency would be an asset
