The Full Time Temporary Float Support Worker will provide relief support to all locations during times when staff are on vacation, sick or otherwise. The position will provide supervision and support to residents living in a group home setting in all aspects of daily living including personal care, domestic skills, home maintenance, money management, use of community businesses and resources, recreation, medical, medications and safety. The Float worker will participate in the planning process for residents and assist in development of strategies to achieve the plan. He or she will assist with the maintenance of the work site; keep up to date on agency information, policies and guidelines. The position practices fiscal responsibility to residents and agency and maintains accurate client and agency records, follows reporting procedures, and assumes other administrative duties. He or she will promote safety and well being of self and others; act as a liaison between internal and external contacts and maintain professionalism in all aspects of duties. Maintains current standing in required courses.
This position will work an average of 35 hours per week. This is a temporary position for 6 months. Two weeks notice will be given before the end of the contract. Work location and shift rotation is subject to change based on program needs. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, statutory holidays and/or weekends as needed.
- DSW or equivalent (social services diploma)
- First Aid/CPR certificate
- NVCI certificate
- French language proficiency would be an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to one’s own vehicle
- Criminal Reference Check
