Summer Student – Child Care Worker

The student must be currently enrolled in full time studies and be returning to full time studies in the fall. To be eligible for the government funded program students must be between 15 and 30 years of age.

The summer student at Tots ‘n Tykes will be part of a team of Early Childhood Educators who are responsible for the supervision and management of a playroom in accordance with policies and procedures of the centre. The student will ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children, implement age appropriate activities and assist with daily routines. The position will work 35 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Educational Requirements:

  • Courses in Early Learning and Child Development or a related field of study at the college or university level
  • Returning to school full time in fall 2018
  • Current criminal reference check with vulnerable sector check completed within last 6 months
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Experience in a licensed child care setting
