The EarlyON Child and Family Centre is seeking to hire an Early Childhood Educator to support programs and services for families and caregivers attending our main and satellite locations this spring/summer. This position will work as a member of the EarlyON Child and Family Centre team to support early learning and development by providing experiences that build responsive adult-child relationships and encourage children’s exploration, play and inquiry, supported by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years. Hours will include some weeknights and Saturday mornings. Position is for 12-16 weeks starting early May until end of August.

Requirements for the job:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends sometimes with short notice, in all Early ON program locations that are under the funded service agreement between E3 Community Services Inc. and the County of Simcoe.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member equally dividing tasks amongst the team.
- Knowledge and commitment to best practices in the field of early learning
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of guiding documents such as: How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years, Think Feel Act, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and implement evidence-based research into practice.
- Ability to identify systemic barriers to equity and anti-oppressive practices and apply this lens to your work with E3 Community Services Inc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (French is an asset)
- Priority is given to Registered Early Childhood Educators in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory.
- First Aid/CPR Certification is mandatory
- ECE, CYW and asset
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License – Class G and reliable transportation.
This position includes physical demands, including lifting (lifting up to 15 lbs, toys, materials, and equipment), standing, kneeling, and walking to provide service to children and families, setting up learning environments, and moving furniture such as tables and chair
Requirements for the job:
Must be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
- legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

- Strong facilitation and written skills
- Knowledge of childhood development and age-appropriate programming
- Knowledge of available community resources
- Awareness of and sensitivity to diversity/special needs issues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Early Childhood Education degree/diploma and a member in good standing with College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) OR equivalent training/ experience
- Experience working directly with young children and families
