ECE Impact

As an Early Childhood Educator (ECE), you will create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. Using current early learning research, child-centered approaches, and our own Tots ‘N’ Tykes Program Statement, you will guide learning experiences that reflect the interests, developmental stages, and identities of the children in your care.

What You’ll Do

Pedagogical Leadership

· Implement learning experiences based on How Does Learning Happen? and the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

· Engage in co-learning with children and colleagues.

· Integrate reflective practice and encourage family involvement in programming.

Child Centered Care

· Support children through daily routines with compassion and awareness of individual needs.

· Monitor developmental milestones and communicate concerns proactively.

· Foster wonder and creativity using open-ended play and provocations.

Inspiring Learning Environments

· Design indoor and outdoor spaces that promote inquiry, movement, and engagement.

· Document learning and share children’s voices using the Lillio app and visible learning displays.

Professional Collaboration

· Partner with families, colleagues, and community members.

· Contribute to team meetings, reflective discussions, and continuous improvement.

· Mentor students and volunteers and support a respectful, inclusive team culture.

Health, Safety & Compliance

· Adhere to safety and cleaning protocols, administer medication and first aid as needed.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency and reporting procedures.

· Practice behaviour guidance strategies aligned with organizational policy.

What You Bring

· Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing (preferred)

· Valid First Aid/CPR (Level C), Food Handler’s Certificate, and clear Vulnerable Sector Check

· Strong understanding of How Does Learning Happen?, Child Care and Early Years Act, and related frameworks

· Demonstrated critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence

· Physical capacity to engage in lifting, standing, kneeling, and outdoor programming

· Passion for lifelong learning, collaboration, and equity-driven practices

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $25.42 per hour
