ROLE SUMMARY
To support the efforts of E3 in the social, integrated and self-directed activities of Individuals living in an E3 group home. This may include indoor activities, game-playing, crafts, entertainment and/or conversation in order to offer happy and safe engagement for Individuals. This volunteer role enhances the efforts of E3 in the provision of dignified and person-centred opportunities for increased independence, engagement and empowerment by supporting Home Staff and Individuals. Volunteers bring joy, enthusiasm and different perspectives to the work of E3.

Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, or Stayner.

ACTIVITIES
CORE ACTIVITIES
- Attend Volunteer Orientation and Training
- Visit Group Home on weekly basis
- Engage in friendly and respectful activities
- Support Individual’s goals
- Enrich social skills and activity level
- Support Individuals as valued community members
- Foster non-judgmental, cooperative and supportive
relationships, particularly with Individuals supported
OPTIONAL
- Provide learning opportunities to Individuals through specific
pre-determined activities as a Mentor (music for example) - Assist with meal preparation and/or other household tasks
RESPONSIBILITIES
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Volunteers must adhere to E3 Health and Safety directions, and to the specific needs of Individuals supported. These may include:
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Wearing face mask
- Understanding and respect of Individual’s needs, limitations
and health concerns - CODE OF ETHICS
- Volunteers agree to abide by E3 policies and code of ethics. It is essential that privacy, personal dignity and open communication be respected.
- REPORTING
- Volunteers report to the Volunteer Manager, who will track time volunteered. E3 House Staff will be available for ongoing support/supervision all personal care of Individuals.
- Communicate any risks, concerns or ideas for improvement in a timely and respectful manner.
- LIMITATIONS
- E3 Volunteers may not represent the organization or enter any agreements on behalf of E3.
- Volunteers will avoid any financial transactions and apparent conflict of interest, particularly with Individuals supported.
- E3 Volunteers do not provide personal care or administer medication.
